Team Azmaiparaschwili
Am 18. Juli führt die European Chess Union in den Räumen des Rumänischen Olympischen Komitees in Bukarest ihre Generalversammlung durch. Alle vier Jahre wählen die Delegierten der ECU ein neues Präsidium. 2026 ist wieder ein Wahljahr. Diesmal stehen drei sogenannte Tickets zur Auswahl. Ein Ticket ist ein Feld von Kandidaten, das in Summe zur Wahl antritt. Aus den drei Wahlvorschlägen ist indirekt zu entnehmen, dass Amtsinhaber Azmaiparaschwili nicht mehr so unumstritten ist wie früher, als er mit großer Mehrheit gewählt wurde, denn nun hat er Gegenkandidaten.
