Subject: Participation in the European School Games 2026
Dear chess friends,
It is with great pleasure that we invite your schools and chess players to take part in the European School Games 2026, a major international sports event for young students, which will be held in Poreč, Croatia, from March 22 to 28, 2026.
This project will gather more than 1,500 students from all over Europe, creating a platform for:
• international exchange and friendship
• sports competitions in 6 disciplines (football, volleyball, athletics, 3×3 basketball, chess, judo)
• educational and cultural activities
• a program for parents and friends of the participants
The European School Games 2026 emphasize:
• inclusivity, where every school, club, or group of young athletes can participate without elimination rounds
• a safe and motivating environment, supported by top sports facilities and accommodation
• a wellbeing approach, linking sport, mental health, and positive social development
Eligible participants are students born between 2008–2015, competing in U15 and U18 categories. The participation fee includes 6 full-board accommodations (with a flexible option for shorter stays) in a hotel complex with excellent logistics.
Please find attached the project presentation with more details (promo video by GM Borki Predojevic, the chess flyer, etc.). We would also be glad to arrange a personal presentation or an exchange of ideas.
Registrations are open at https://www.school-games.eu/log-in/ – we look forward to your participation!
